Very strange...

whatever you may have changed recently, Dave, everything is now fine on my Win10, Chrome, Dell Inspiron computer.

Well, I did make some changes to the navigation bar to cause the action icons to stay visible on phones but other than that, I don't think I did anything that would have fixed it for you. Shrug!

Odd. It's still occurring here (FF49, Win10). There are times when I wish browsers treated CSS the same way...

Out of curiosity, Dave, which Linux distro do you use?

We have a lot of distros around here but primarily we use the Red Hat stuff, since Trish and I worked there way back at the beginning, and old habits die hard. Jon and I both use Centos. Trish and everyone else in the house uses Fedora.

Thanks. I use Red Hat and CentOS at work (it's the preferred distro and all Linux servers use one of the two, although one of my colleagues uses Ubuntu on his PC) and have a CentOS PC at home here as well. My main desktop is Windows, though, as many applications I use require Windows (at present it is triple-booted between 10, 7 and XP due to varying OS support).

Haven't tried Fedora yet, but it's on the list of distros to try.

That's cool, Joshua. Yes, I'm pretty committed to Centos at this point. I use it for all the Garden.org servers as well as my own machines in my office. I don't see myself straying from that path for many years. Trish jokes at me because I still use mutt for my mail, which as you may know is a text based mail program that hasn't really changed in 20 years. Smiling

Fedora is good, it's just a little too raw for me. They put the latest and greatest of everything together and send it out, letting the users shake the bugs out. Centos on the other hand is (as you know) very reliable and solid. At this point in my life, reliability and stability is the most important thing to me in a computer.

(I'm gonna move this to the sandbox but feel free to continue talking.)

I can understand that - after learning RHEL and CentOS at work, I would use it in future for any projects as well. I definitely agree on the stability and reliability point - our servers at my workplace also run websites (that clients can access) and host a PostgreSQL database cluster, so they need to have excellent uptime as well.

I suspect you would get on well with one of my colleagues - he uses vim for all his development. We joke that if he could, he'd just run Linux machines with no desktop environment!
