'California Sunshine' was a bright bloomer for me in Zone 7A as a first year DL. I got it as a left-over from our club sale in April, and it was blooming in June. It's supposed to be a re-bloomer, and it didn't do that for me this year, but it did produce several nice blooms in its maiden year here. She's listed as a semi-evergreen, so I'll be watching her this winter to see how that goes, too!

I don't grow this one, but that brilliant yellow is sure a stand out. Hope more people have grown it and will comment. Otherwise I might just have to add this one to my yellow collection and try it for myself.......Maryl

Sorry, I just noticed this thread, should visit more often. 'California Sunshine'
Has graced my flowerbeds for 25 years and while I have discarded many cultivars in that span of time, CS is here to stay. I love the color and the form, performance has been great. It has been divided countless times and has rebloomed in most years, as long as it got enough water. It often starts blooming in April, sometimes early May and will go to mid or late July. What more can you ask?
