The north side of the house has a strip of earth that struggles to be kept in lawn. In fact, if you remove the noxious weeds, there would not be much. So, I would like to explore groundcovers. The area can get very dry. House is 3 stories so mainly shady though it can get some sun in summer when sun angle is higher. I would like for the groundcover to be able to withstand some foot traffic and not get high enough to gave to mow. And since I want EVERYTHING...flowering would be nice so pollinators would have another nectar & pollen source. Evergreen?

Does such a beast exist?
Always looking for interesting plants for pollinators and food! Bonus points for highly, and pleasantly scented plants.

@porkpal - Horse herb you say? I love horse herb and it grows wild in my backyard. Has a pretty little flower and is no mow as well. Would love to have it in front as well but not up for clearing out the little bits of grass and the bigger bits of misc. weeds.

@UrbanWild - I strongly suggest, nay urge, that you go to the website for Lady Byrd Johnson Wildflower Center. Within it you can enter your state, desires such as ground cover and evergreen, etc, other things like shade or whatever, press enter and viola! you should get some suggestions. It's a pretty nifty site and apologies that I don't have the exact link for it.
2 more comments. For me, if the lawn/weeds are mowed, they're green and look fine.
Whatever you plant, do NOT plant purple wintercreeper!!! (Can send you a treemail if you want to know why.)
As I'm also looking for an evergreen ground cover, good luck to us both!

Beware of groundcovers. They spread. They are impossible to kill after they spread. Box in an area and grow annuals or perennials. Stokes Asters don't spread and are evergreen.
