For a while now, I've enjoyed listening to the "Self Sufficient Gardener" podcast. He covers lots of interesting gardening topics and it's something nice to listen to while working outside or on a long drive.

A few weeks ago he invited me to give an interview for his podcast, and that interview was posted today!

It's currently the top entry on his website. Check it out:

http://theselfsufficientgarden...

We talk a lot about farming, gardening, my history with web development, and he gave us lots of plugs for ATP. Thumbs up

What a nice job you did Dave! That was a full hour and I listened to every bit. I'm all ears! Very interesting.

I really liked the statement on the Self Sufficient Gardener website: "Dave was the creator of Davesgarden.com and more recently the improved version: www.Allthingsplants.com."

What an amazing interview!
Good for you, Dave.
Fun, too, right down to the little girly girl comment about her potholders and dish cloths.
I particularly liked the comments about lard, too, even though I'm not much of a beef or pork eater, I was raised on lard.
Great interview, a good learning tool. Thanks for sharing it with us.

I bought some knitted dish cloths from a lady on DG a few years back and they are wonderful! I wish your daughter sold them on line, I'd love to purchase a few more for myself, as well as a few for gifts!

I'm glad you all liked the interview. We did it last night actually on the phone.

All the girls make dish cloths and other things. They sell them like crazy at the farmers market and elsewhere. Once people use them they realize how great they work and the word spread pretty quick around town that they are worth getting. It's fun. Smiling

Knitted dish cloths really do work extremely well. I love the fact that they can be thrown in the laundry and washed time and again. Mine originally were blue but I've bleached them and so they've faded out ... but wow, are they every sturdy and great for chores! They've outlasted store bought dish cloths by a mile and I will never use sponges again. I give them Thumbs up Thumbs up Thumbs up Thumbs up Thumbs up Thumbs up Thumbs up Thumbs up Thumbs up Thumbs up :

I keep saying that I am going to add a store to my cubit. I hope to in Mid Nov or so...but we'll see. I'll probably have quite a bit of left overs after our last affair the first week in Nov- tote bags, aprons soaps, lip balm, dish clothes and the like. If (when) I do, the girls will absolutely have theirs in as well. We always share Lovey dubby

I'm going to listen to Dave's interview in a minute.

Just want to comment on the knitted dish cloths. My grandmother used to knit trivets of all sizes from coaster size to casserole size. She knitted them for Stanford Children's Hospital fundraising rummage sales from WWII to about age 80. Very popular. I think she used a double knit for thickness. I'm going to start making "mug mats" soon. Hope to sell them at my local tea shop. Google them. Very cute small quilting project. Seray brought them to my attention.

...off to listen to the interview!
