I also have a couple of seed pods on one of my plumerias. Can anyone offer a novice some advice on when and how to proceed?

There is a plumeria forum here. Look at forums on the home page.

From what I have read it takes 9 or 10 months for the seed pod to ripen and it must stay on the plant during that entire time.
