I was given this plant and thought it was Aloe but I recently figured out that it wasnt by stumbling across an image of an actual Aloe vera plant. Ay ideas as to whaf it is?

Its still an Aloe, just not an Aloe vera.

I think it may be an aloe, just either a different species or one that needs way more light. How much sun does this one get? Are the leaves fleshy as they kinda appear in the pic?
It looks like an Aloe to me also. There are a few that have that type of growth habit but it's probably hard to know an exact ID without seeing blooms. Two for comparison:
