Please help identify. This photo was taken November 3, so the plant is starting to dry, but I believe it is a type of Sedge/Carex. Either Carex normalis maybe or Carex molesta? Or possibly Carex rosea (though the leaves on my sedge are pretty wide).There appears to be a distinctive ridge along the center of one leaf side, while the other is flat.

If that second pic is the stem...it doesn't look like any sedge I know but I'm not an expert....what I did find that might help you is...this link from Illinois wildflowers that gives you a list of sedges you are likely to find in your area. Hope it helps!

The second picture looks typical of sedge leaves in general, but the flower stalk(?) is not familiar to me.
