I got this little guy in January at our big orchid sale/show and it was gorgeously in bloom....not looking so good nowadays though

Anyone have any ideas??

To me it looks extremely under watered (and perhaps not enough moisture in the air aswell), but there is young growth at the base so don't give up on it yet

This particular Encyclia needs high humidity and almost constand moisture. Your plant is working hard to survive but I don't see any healthy roots to support the new growth.

Did you repot? If so, I would have chosen a smaller pot and smaller sized bark with added perlite.

Thanks Lee-Roy, Ted and Daisy...I will re-pot to a smaller size and watch the watering more carefully.

If you have a little bit of spaghnum I'd mix that in with the bark mix to hold a little more moisture. It's been awfully dry and windy this fall, and they do like to stay pretty moist.

Mine plus the Miltassias and other similar ones are all under the mister section that gets watered every day here. Even with our cooler weather we've had this fall, it's been just enough to keep everybody happy because the wind dries everything out so quickly.
