These seedlings were lined out in September and will be three years old September 2017, which ones will be culled?, that will be answered this summer during bloom season when stats are recorded for each one.

All of the flowers are lovely! I like the third one and the fifth one best though...The great big yellow green throats are striking...

Well done! Thumbs up

Fred those are all nice but I understand the necessity to cull. I have never done it but I am sure my time will come.

You mean, literally destroy any one of them? Because I was just looking at a bunch of truly boring ones that are for sale all over the internet.

Fred, would you not consider selling seedlings that you would otherwise discard to the compost pile on the LA? I am sure there are many buyers out there for these seedlings. Me among them. I would love to grow your 4th and 7th ones from the pics above.

Number 3, 4 and 5 are my picks. Number 5 because of it's fuller petal size, color and markings, number 4 because of the unusual pattern (if it holds in the heat), and number 3, because I know it would sell for you if the stats held up..........Maryl

Fred - I agree with Karen. Sell any that you don't want to introduce on the LA as seedlings. I bet they would sell for sure!

I agree sell the culled ones. None of them deserve to be composted. One man's trash is another's treasure. Some of us are simply growers or collectors and not sellers, so we care more about the beauty (even if it's not perfect in every way) rather than we do about the name or ancestry of a plant.

OTOH, I too vote to keep #3, #4 and #5.

All of them look very nice, but these are my picks too. If they bloom above the foliage and have decent bud count and scapes, they are winners in my books!

Thanks for the comments everyone.
I do sell some on the lily auction each year in late summer after I have decided what I think is worthy of registering. What I am showing here came from the 2014 crop of 2500, so culling is brutal here.
Here are the rest from that crop.

Wow, Fred, that first flower looks like it has some sculpting. So textural and interesting. I bought my first UF daylilies this past summer, so have seen no blooms in person. But I don't think any of mine will look like that.

I think all of them are very special.

I haven't learned to fully appreciate spiders yet, although I agree as mentioned the sculpturing is interesting, nodding but the last one gets my vote. Drooling
