Found this growing in a clients yard, in Marin Co., CA It is growing very low to the ground, it is less than a foot wide and not a fast-grower. Is it anything special? :)

Leaves remind me of a rhododendron or azalea that has leaves that small but not sure of species.

It looks like Yaupon Holly to me - possibly a dwarf specimen.

So far the plants you have posted are all California natives. They are also all considered Chaparral plants. I recognize this one as a Chaparral plant also but the name is eluding me at the moment.

Any other ideas for this little fellow low lying scrub, found in Marin County in a neglected garden. Native? Chaparral? Flowering? Thanks for any tips you might have! Ricardo

I still think it looks like a very young Yaupon Holly.
