Behaved here like a tender Southern evergreen. By that, I don't mean it died. Indeed, it multiplied, but scapes were always meager, short and poorly budded. And it frequently had the splotchy problems typical of this edged color. Of course, I could post a beautiful picture, but that wouldn't be representative of its performance. Perhaps five years wasn't enough of a test, considering that two of those years had severe winters. But I was happy to send nice divisions of this one to warmer climes.

It is wimpy here and is prone to spotch up.

I got JC in 2014 and as others have noted it does get splotchy. The blooms usually sit just above the foliage and some petals curl more than others throwing off the symmetry of the bloom. It does have a beautiful golden edge. I don't recall seeing rust on it.

I tried to find a picture that did not have splotches or that had a symmetrical bloom and this was the closest I could find. Many times, the color fades and melts to a light, muddy brown in afternoon heat. It blooms for about 5-6 weeks beginning in late June. I have to admit that I purchased JC based on name only, so I am disappointed that it hasn't performed better.

Bud count and branching isn't great here either. 2 to 3-way branching and I am guessing 10-12 buds.

It did grow into a nice sized clump in 3 years.

I did find one fairly decent photo from last year that was taken shortly after a rain shower.

I received this plant last off-season from Vicki @blue23rose. It spent the bloom season potted before being put to bed fall 2023. It didn't appear to be particularly rust-prone in my yard. Bloomed late in the mid season 6/14/2023 this first year
