Hello, anyone know what is this tree. the fruit is a little bit hard. i thought it might be prunus americana. this is grown in Los Angeles county as a landscape tree.

Looks more like a Crabapple. Can you cut a fruit open and see what's inside?

Anything Prunus will have a pit. Crabapples have tiny seeds in a star shape if cut in cross section.
