If anyone happens to see these small growers for sale @ $1.00-$3.00 in your big box stores, I will purchase them from you as well as cover shipping. For some reason, our big box stores here never have the compact growers, only standards. I want to mount my Phal., and only do so with those compact ones.

@Cinta is good at finding deals like that, but she's not back yet. She's dealing with the loss of two loved ones. Hopefully, she'll be back soon. I saw some at WM for $4 recently, but only bought one. I'll keep my eyes open for some in your price range. nodding

Thanks, Deb. If you happen to find any in that drastically reduced price range, I can handle up to a dozen at a time. One thing though. They need to be labeled so that I can put a name with the plants.

Thanks for the information on Cinta. I did not know why she did not respond to my T-Mails. I hope she is doing well.

I tip my hat to you. Cinta's doing as well as can be for her situation. The funeral is behind her now and she's trying to recover, so that she can get back to the things that she enjoys. She's looking forward to getting back to her friends at NGA when she can.

Thanks, Deb, for the update on Cinta. Family death(s) can be so difficult to recover from. I know. I lost my dad and my wife's mom and dad, all within a year of each other.

Oh, so sorry to hear about your loss, Doc. You're right, it can be difficult to get back to living again after dealing with multiple loss of close family and friends.

Thank you, Deb. Their deaths all occurred in 2014, so my wife and I have had time to heal.

Deb, if you speak to Cinta, please send my condolences for the loss of her loved ones. It can be very difficult to lose more than one family member in such a short time frame like that.

Several years ago I experienced numerous deaths of family members and a friend all within short periods of time. It began with the sudden passing of my brother in law, then 6 months later my mother in law, then 5 months later my mom passed and we also had a friend pass away during that time. Three years after those losses, my dad passed away, then 3 months later, my brother and less than a year later one of my sisters and a cousin died.

For many, grief comes and goes in waves and takes on many different facets; disbelief, sadness, anger, emptiness, etc. and there's no particular time frame for grief; for some it is brief while for others it can last months or even years. Everyone handles loss in their own way and in their own time but eventually the good memories fill the void, the pain lessens and the broken hearts heals. Group hug

Occasionally, I will find an orchid near death for $3.00 at our Lowe's. Sometimes I can find a tag buried under the moss/bark, but sometimes the tag is just a generic - Den./Onc./Cat. and the like.

None of ours are ever labeled and I never have any idea what anything is. I just look at the flowers or shake my head at the state of the plants and move on.

Sad That's too bad, James. "Distressed/near dead" plants are generally no problem for me but lack of names is a no-no.

Yeah. The few times that I have looked, the tags typically just say, "Orchid".

As if that's helpful Rolling my eyes.

Wow Lin, that's a lot to have to deal with in such a short period of time. I'm glad that you were able to recover and move on. I will be sure to convey your message to Cinta when I'm in touch with her again. I think I'll share your experience with her as well, so that she can know that she's not alone in dealing with her loss.

Doc, I know that I've had tags on the ones that I had in the past. I still find one or two lying around from time to time (a sad reminder of the loss). Thumbs down When I had them previously, I was a novice at the time and didn't know about mealy bugs. I had a bad infestation and kept trying to wash them off with soapy water. They kept returning, so I just decided to throw them all away including an oncidium, before they infected my other houseplants. A few years ago, Lowe's sold them bare rooted in plastic packs. I was working at the time and not into growing exotics. I had no idea they would discontinue carrying them, so I guess I've missed out on those. Thumbs down

Our Lowe's has those (plastic) bagged orchids, seedlings and NBS. You never know what you'll find. I don't think they sell very well though since I will sometimes see them for sell @ $3.00 and $5.00, but they are all distressed/near death when they reduce them.

Debbie, Lowe's still carry the bag babies but they are often in bad shape. Perhaps the reason they do not sell right away is because they hide them in my store. They are never in the same place twice. By the time I discover where they have hidden them most are dried up.

I know those bagged plants sit for at least a month without a drop of water and generally, very little light. Even the light they get is extremely low-grade.

Hi mascot, Welcome!
I replied on the other page for your classified ad here: and I'm just curious as to where you are located and if your company has a website? I googled for mascot industries and found businesses in India but nothing related to plants or seeds.
