As you know, the S. beraviensis is not self fertile .. in order to get seeds you have to have a different species like S. campanulata.

I'm wondering if microwaving the pollen could overcome this. Since the Stictocardia starts blooming in Winter, how about trying the microwaved pollen technique. So far it's worked on Albuca spiralis and Hibiscus moscheutos for me and I'll also be trying it on all of my Southern Hemisphere plants that bloom in Winter like my Seemannia sylvatica. It would be great to get a list going of plants this technique works on.

Here is the link to the thread on how to do it.

Now that I have the room I'm going to germinate all of my Stictocardia seeds this spring .. I have 4 beraviensis and 3 campanulata. From what I understand, it can take years for them to bloom from seed .. hope it's not too long!

I had one for four years and never saw a bloom. It just got too big to bring it in.
Can you leave yours outside all year?

No I can't but it can go in the garage in winter - never gets below 60 degrees in there and I have 4, 4 foot full spectrum lights for the over flow that won't fit in the greenhouse.
