I always remember when I first saw a photo of Spacecoast Color Scheme in a thread here and I knew I had to have this attractive bicolor. It is a small bloom with robust substance but not a miniature. The lighter colored sepals, however, are not always that contrasting to make an obvious bicolor. But when they do, it is a bloom that goes boom.

It has struggled a bit here in the subtropics and I recently moved it to a new position and it is starting to perform well at last. It is a rebloomer. It is pod fertile but I have never successfully set its pollen but such an achievement is not something that has been big in my list of priorities. I have not written down a rust score so far but will do so later.

The problem is that when you are young your life it is ruined by your parents. When you are older it is ruined by your children.

I received SCS as a gift from one of my fellow NGA pals. It wasn't labeled and I didn't know what to expect when I planted it, but was pleasantly surprised. I didn't have anything like it in my garden. It bloomed and rebloomed for me. It was a tad bit short but it's a keeper for me.

I received this as a bonus from Pat Ball in April of 2023. I planted it at the front of Bottom Bed and must have lost the tag as I don't see any Fall info on it. In the Spring, it was two fans. I actually bid on this on the LA and lost, so it's kind of funny that I got it for free.
