Ok I have played around with daylilies and starting daylily seeds for many many many many years but just as a hobby. I have started them in pots, starting trays and directly in the soil (even using a beach umbrella when a surprise rain cam on my planned planting day came).
I actually think I had the best luck with the direct sow in the daylily bed of choice - just try to do it early as possible, It worked great for me.
Well life throw those road blocks up ever so often. My daylily beds were still there but I'm sure they almost felt homeless - totally different from the persistent care they had received in the past. This lull lasted way too long. I'm sure all of you daylily addicts have read those books about plants have feelings and so on and so on. I think we definitely have a connection to our plants. I jumped back in with both feet this year. I tried to re-immerse myself into my plants and beds. My back and leg muscles remind me of it often which is also a good positive addition once the real soreness subsides.

Well, Today I bought a Skydrop (Normally $299.99 - I got it for $99.99) plus I had my 11% off coupon at Lowes. I did a quick review research on my smartphone (I hate the dependence but how did we live without all that instant info. Also bought some other irrigation parts at a huge discount.
So I'm gonna give it a try - you can water from anywhere with your smartphone.

The $99.00 cost is the 60% off or at least the best I could tell, I acted like I was ordering it and it showed 99.000 but I will make sure. Would love to save another $60.00 who wouldn't.
I think this will be best utilized for the seedlings not actually starting the seeds but who know.
Has anyone ever used this device?

Sounds a little to hi tect for me, all my beds are on automatic timers which have worked well for many years. Good luck with the experiment.
