Dear Seedfork;

I know nothing whatsoever about Daylilies. But from your description, I think it means that this particular one is your "own creation." If that be the case, is it possible that you might still have a couple of seeds from this particular flower? It is exquisite! I've learned from our friends at N.G.A. that Daylily flowers do not come true from seed, but if it were possible, I would love to try with this one.

I know we just had an amazing seed swap. But this is a possibility that I would not want to miss...if it IS a possibility. It is just beautiful!

God Bless You; Angel

This was a seedling, but not one I created! This is one of 25 seedlings I purchased from
Mark Sattelmeier of Abundant Daylilies. It was a very pretty bloom to me, but the plant showed a high amount of rust! So it may end up being a plant I don't keep. I'll check it out more this spring and see how it does as far as rust, and keep an eye on it's other qualities also. I don't know what zone you are in so rust might not be a problem for you. I am not sure yet if this daylily will be a dormant or evergreen here in my garden. I cut all the foliage off a few days ago and we have yet to have any cold weather. I did no pollinating this year, and there were no bee pods on the plant so I have no seeds. However, if the plant does well and if the blooms look this pretty again next year and if it multiplies decently I would be happy to send you seed if I get them, or a small division of the plant if possible (don't know the state you are in).
