Hello @gardengus and @Paul2032, Thanks for your kind comments.
I purchased this gorgeous Japanese Iris six years ago, and have been thrilled with its spectacular blossoms. It would probably prefer more moisture, but has done well in a slightly sheltered spot in the garden. We do get horrendous winds and lots of sun in the summer, but, all in all, it seems to handle it okay.

I notice you are both in the 5b Zone as well, so give it a try. I took a quick peek at your long list of Landscape Photos, Paul, and was amazed! You have a Grand Photo exhibit right there! Such lush and lovely, colourful compositions. Thank you so much for sharing them with us!

Nora....thanks for the kind comments. I have tried Japanese Iris in my garden with no success as have others. Our soil is alkaline and so is our water. I tried to deal with this but it didn't work.

Sorry to hear that - but you do have so many very beautiful plants.
We live in an area that has a Pulp Mill, and they have modified it now, but for decades, there must have been fall out that has probably affected the acidity of our soil.
