I would like to try to propagate this plant. I have several branches layered now but would like to try from seeds.
Anyone with experience who is willing to share ideas would be appreciated
thanks, Bethb

Hi Beth, I've tried it from seed, but was not successful. I did read that you need to soak the seed in something acidic to soften the outer coating. What I did do was make stem tip cuttings. They did root but it took about 2 months. I think your air layering should work too, but it may take much longer than some other plants.

Ok!!! Some seeds . like pine trees need a forest fire before they will sprout. 😮 mazanita??? Shrug!
BUTT !!! If the hard outter shell is the problem. Then treat seeds like you do for New Zeland Spinach !
Score the seeds with a knife . or rough up with some course sandpaper. I dont know which method works better. I did both with the n.z.spinich and ownce you have it. WELL ! You never have to start seeds again !!! 😊😊😊
Hope you have success.
Ohhh!!!! And let us know !
Same thread ! Same channel ! 😊!
