Seems the ocean wave is about to overtake the birds.

They were fine. Just standing at the edge. We don't tend to get very big waves on the Gulf side of Florida.

Certainly, a great picture; if it was mine I'd mount and display it.

Nice pic of the Terns, Mellie! Looks like you laid on the sand to capture that one.

Jack, I'm redecorating my room so you may have something there!

Sherri, you make a good point, but I was actually standing! They wouldn't let me get too close so I just used the zoom on my camera. I may have been holding it lower than usual, though.

Oh, and for everyone who doesn't hang out on the BBB forum, this is a photo I took back in July. There's a local restaurant down on Bradenton Beach that has an annual fireworks display for the 4th of July. But they had Black Skimmers and Royal Terns nesting on the beach, so they canceled the fireworks. It was only the second time they'd had to cancel them in decades, but oddly, it was the second year in a row. They have a sister restaurant about a mile away where they did hold the fireworks. Since I believe in rewarding good behavior and voting with my dollars, Mom and I drove down a few days after seeing the story on the local news, and had a fabulous lunch. I had the grouper sandwich, a Florida classic. And I took lots of photos of the birds, but this was my favorite (Mom's too)!

Wow, This is just amazing. We needed about 45 winners at least. All photos are so impressive
