I have this plant do i need to prune it , i have had a few little flowers this year and less berrys . can you help,its growing along a fence up near my house in a sheltered position it gets slightly troubled by a mold in dry summer months?

Hopefully someone with experience growing the plant will come along and add to the above.

I grow them, and I find they are very easy to grow but finicky to get fruit. Sometimes they surprise me with a flush of flowers followed by strings and strings of fruits. Other times it blooms and sets no fruit. I have not yet cracked the code on how to get reliability from this plant.

I am in zone 5
Have had these for a few years now
It doesn't seem to matter if you prune or not I have done both
I get some die back on some canes and then prune, I have noticed a few more shoots when I do prune, but no real difference in fruit production.
I have gotten several new plants from root runners . I let them grow the first year and then cut them to 12-18 inches and transplant the second year.
