Welcome! I've never grown them but there is some advice from the Royal Horticultural Society here (bear in mind that this article is from the UK if that's not where you are):

https://www.rhs.org.uk/advice/...

Another article is linked to below but, unlike the above, it doesn't explain that it flowers on old wood and therefore that pruning will initially reduce fruiting while increasing it longer term:

Hopefully someone with experience growing the plant will come along and add to the above.

I grow them, and I find they are very easy to grow but finicky to get fruit. Sometimes they surprise me with a flush of flowers followed by strings and strings of fruits. Other times it blooms and sets no fruit. I have not yet cracked the code on how to get reliability from this plant.

I am in zone 5
Have had these for a few years now
It doesn't seem to matter if you prune or not I have done both
I get some die back on some canes and then prune, I have noticed a few more shoots when I do prune, but no real difference in fruit production.
I have gotten several new plants from root runners . I let them grow the first year and then cut them to 12-18 inches and transplant the second year.
..a balanced life is worth pursuit.

Spring or fall is the best time to plant shrubs like this.
