About 2 weeks ago, my boyfriend hot 2 big cuttings from his moms plumera plant. It's still not planned and the end gas really dried out
Is it too late to replant and save them?
Also, I read that in lieu of a bought rooting powder, honey can be used.
Is chaos correct?

Hi! Welcome! I always plant my cuttings immediately, so I am not an expert on drying and storing. Someone will be along shortly that is more of an expert on this. Thumbs up

Welcome! @Tcasoli. I don't know about the honey question. I use rooting hormone but lots of folks use nothing and are successful rooting their cuttings. Cuttings can last many, many months without rooting. Two weeks is practically nothing. I wait for my cuttings to callus 1-2 wks. routinely before I will bag them for rooting. Regardless of your rooting method, expect rooting to be very slow this time of year. It may be spring before you get results.

It would be helpful if you will enter your location, Tcasoli. Do that in your "Profile".

Hello Tina, if it were mine, I will just stick it in dry, very well draining media for now, keep it as warm as you can indoors, and wait for Spring. Your location is in SoCal, so you have better temps than we do here, our winters are mild, but the air gets cold at night. And lately we are having rains, and your cutting since it has no roots yet, must be kept dry.

When our temps in Spring becomes more stable, like overnights not going below 50F, you can carefully bring it out to part shade, let it acclimate to the environment, and wait patiently for the cutting to grow new leaves.

I have not used honey on any of my cuttings, just rootone, or sometimes none.

Thanks for showing your location. Tarev knows all about CA weather patterns, so she should be right-on.

By the way, if you wonder what that long brown discoloration is on the stem of the multi-tipped plant, that's sunburn. It was possibly cut and left in full sun. These cut-stems will sunburn fairly easy.
