Okay, so...WOW. Going into the third year with these threads and have to say I am happy and thrilled that the 2016 thread had 33,397 views and 2,152 replies. We ARE a chatty bunch. And I wouldn't have it any other way.

Back more toward normal with our winter temperatures and most blooms are now gone. Except these Emerald Blue Creeping Phlox.


However, we have also been on a crazy roller coaster ride of temperatures (67 expected today, 73 tomorrow, but 34 by Friday with some light snow) It will be interesting to see what else, if anything, pops up in flower before the usual mid-February blooms.

Can't wait.

Yep, it is good when green. Lethal when dried out and brown, but I can work around that.

I agree Ann. I bought my first creeping Phlox last spring and it did well during the drought. I adore tall Phlox.
I have a knockout rose blooming and the tiny flowers of a tea olive are wafting about.
Deb you mentioned your peony budding out, my gingko tree just lost all of it's leaves last week and it's also trying to bud.
I'm happy to be part of Debra's posse and seeing the friends I met here in 2017!

She is that, Linda. Been my friend for nearly 30 years. We've traveled overseas four times together, been through tons of familial crises (mostly mine), work crises (mostly hers), and she saved me from losing my house in 2013 after I was let go from the job. My life would be infinitely darker without her.

Not many people these days have friends like that Debra. You are blessed and she is as well.

I'm glad you have your good friend Shelley. February of '15 I found my best friend from high school and the years have fallen away being with her again. I get weepy just thinking about being away from her. There's something special about people that "get" you.

Happy belated birthday Debra. Glad to see a new fresh thread for 2017. I was very sporatic getting online to check everything out in 2016 and I kept getting really behind on yours - lots and lots of posts is a good thing but I would want to read back all the way to where I left off and limited time to do it in Fresh thread, fresh start to the new year, and hopefully I can keep up with this one. I'm retiring in a few more weeks and should have a lot more free time on my hands
