This is a very pretty and hardy older daylily that is now quite inexpensive. It is definitely a late bloomer in my garden but is rather more plain than I like. It is fertile both ways. In my opinion, AL'S PEACH TOWER is a much nicer plant with larger, showier blooms in a very similar color range.

Can't say enough good things about Bermuda Coral. It is more "Late" than "Very Late" for me as it start to bloom in late July in my Z:5 garden. Tall with candelabra branching.

I added 'Bermuda Coral' to the gardens this past year, I can attest to the fact that it flowered late in the summer here in zone 3. It does add some necessary height to the border, and I do like the colour which may (at first glance) come across as a baby pink ... but when you look closer, has subtle tones of apricot blended in. I will have to see if it comes back in 2022 (it is supposed to be hardy for my zone 3 gardens).

While some folks dismiss some of the older, more solid daylilies as 'too plain' I feel they add contrast to the newer, showier daylilies ... if every flower is a crazy quilt, over the top show-stopper, then it seems like (after a while) we stop looking altogether. You stop noticing the details.

Bermuda Coral, for me, is subtle and adds a touch elegance.
Life is what happens while you are making other plans.

I ordered Bermuda Coral in 2021 from Along the Fence Daylilies in spring 2021 and received 2-3 fans. It is now 6 fans strong and doing very well in my zone 6b garden. I have not seen rust on it. It is definitely a late to very late in my garden. I have not measured scape height. One of the scapes from this year was probably around 3 feet tall, but the other was closer to 3.5 feet tall. The scapes are sturdy and do not lean.

8/2/2023 - It has very nice branching. Some with 5-way branching and 20 bud count.

It has a beautiful orange throat and the petal and sepal color seems to range from melon to soft pink. I guess that could be caused by the extreme temps, soil, time of day, or settings on the camera. Sometimes the petals don't want to lay open like they should, which gives the bloom an odd shape.

8/6/21 - despite being new in my garden it sent up a late scape and bloomed beautifully.

7/30/2022 - in 2022 it bloomed from 7/15 to at least 8/4 and still had a few blooms left.

7/15/23 - same in 2023. Only two scapes, but bloomed from 7/10 until at least 8/3 with a couple buds left.

This is one older cultivar that seems to deserve being grown in more gardens! Looks like a lovely plant.

Thanks, Nan. I am back down to 3-4 fans because I did a trade with it this year, but I really think it will bounce back and do well again in 2024.
