Does anyone know when Mr. Selman will put up his list for all the daylilies available for 2017. Also, I may have missed out on something (no surprise) but there doesn't seem to be a mention of Blue Ridge introducting Dale Hensley daylilies any longer - a new (to me )guy has popped up in his place; Eric Simpson. Anyone know what that's all about? ......Maryl

Interesting. Maybe there won't be a separate price list of general daylilies (not his intros). I'm sure he would tell you if you contacted him. Last year, Blue Ridge launched a marketing campaign on Facebook, and Eric Simpson (a hybridizer formerly from Indiana) handled a lot of the business. Perhaps Simpson has replaced Hensley in the website partnership. (Speculate as you wish as to the reasons.)

Mantis: Your comment elsewhere about his intros for sale got me curious and a little nervous. I e-mailed Bob a couple weeks ago after all of his listings were dropped off the Lily Auction "store front" site, also the Blooming Auction site ( which now only has his own intros) as well as the "list" of 2016 cultivars (which is totally wiped, including header). I got no response back from him on that e-mail (which from past experience is unusual). I see he has something going on Facebook, but I don't do facebook so don't know how to ask him what the deal is OR if there even is a deal. I could of course just be over anxious as it's still early in the season. ..........I hope someone knows something about his company - for good or for ill...........Maryl

Not to worry, Maryl. Bob and Eric are scheduled as speakers for a lot of winter events and January is about the only time this hard working pair can take a vacation so they are likely traveling. Some of Bob's 2017s were listed on his Facebook page recently. Blueridge will still be selling the previous Hensley introductions, but starting in 2017 Dale will have his own web page. Maryl they've both been posting daily on Facebook but it's a closed group you have to join (free). I haven't ordered any yet because it's the wrong time of year for me. They are daily offerings only and daily deals. They have some gorgeous blooms

When I go to the site, I get a large banner across the entire page saying to see more of the site to join Facebook.

Under the "Log In" and "Sign Up" buttons is the words "not now". If you click on "not now" the banner goes to the bottom of the screen and you can see the site. I'm not a member of Facebook and there are quite a few public sites that I can see

No big deal, my wife uses Facebook, so I logged in with her password. The banner does go to the bottom if you're not a member but on my screen it covers about a fourth of the screen still when not signed in.

Thanks for all the information. I guess I will just have to wait until Bob posts his for sale list later this year. His introductions are lovely, but I'm mainly interested in his older inventory by various other hybridizers. I appreciate that information on Mr. Hensley's new site coming out this year too.....So here I sit waiting........A watched pot never boils-lol........Maryl

It's interesting to see all this. I guess more and more hybridizers are relying on Facebook to let people know about new intros. I'll be looking for Dale Hensley's new website as well since I'm fond on his intros and would like to have some of the older ones.

I guess I need to become more familiar with Facebook, I just don't see the appeal to it yet. I love websites, so much better. Of course I still like e-mail and don't text!

I'm with you Larry on Facebook. But then I miss the old print catalogs. .....Debra: The few Hensley's I've tried have been encouraging. I read that he's " into" reds lately, and does seem to at least try to make them colorfast for those of us in the warmer climates. When his website is up, I'll be interested in it also.....Maryl

I did what you said with the facebook page, and clicked on the "all photos" to see a ton of amazing photos, and several
for my wish list. I always thought his prices stayed high longer than most, so I have never ordered from him, but the
photos show some incredible plants and a thriving business. Thanks for the info!!!!

They may indeed be "incredible plants," but in the daylily world, many of us have been burnt by buying pictures. I would encourage people (who aren't trying to sell a plant) to post reports and pics outside the immediate region.

Looks like the Blooming Auction has been updated now with new prices and all of the 2017s. Here's a photo of WEIRD SCIENCE that I took while on a visit two years ago. It is a strange color combination and has an unusual sheen when seen in the sun

Unless I'm missing something Blue Ridge on the Blooming Auction still is listing only his own (Bob Selman) hybrids plus a few of Dale Hensleys. He's also not up on the Lily Auction yet........Dale Hensley says he will set up a new Website for himself when he finds the time, so he's aware now that there is interest...........Maryl
