This is such a beautiful bloom, I don't own the plant but I hope we get some favorable reports on it. It is certainly an eye catcher.

I got Patricia Snyder Memorial spring 2014. They sent one tiny fan that increased so little that I didn't think it would survive the winter. But it did! It increased through that summer and did fine through the next winter and bloomed in 2016. It was an early bloomer. The blooms were big and beautiful, but I only took pictures of the first flowers.

This was a new addition to my garden in 2016. It wasn't settled in well, but put up a scape anyway with a few blooms. As new blooms often do here, this one wasn't as bold as it will be once it is established. The form was beautiful, and if it stayed this color I wouldn't be too sad :

It is pod fertile; not sure if I tried the pollen or not. Hoping it gets taller and has more buds in 2017, but it is beautiful and will be staying put a while to get settled in.

Although the bloom is stunning, the performance was pretty mediocre (9 or 10 buds per scape.) I think it gets too much shade in my garden now. It hasn't bloomed for the past two years. I have a friend who tried to grow it in Michigan, but she said it never had more than 3 or 5 buds there. When it did get enough sun here, it used to rebloom.

Wow, the pics of PSM are so lovely! I have this daylily but it was planted fall 2015 so it did not do much this past summer. I had a few blooms but they were not as nice as the ones posted by Jon above. Hopefully, it will get better in the years to come.

Of the thirteen vendors I keep listed on my dropdown menu, only the very last one had 'Patricia Snider Memorial' available. Simonton Bridge Daily Farm, available for $25.00(showing in the listing, I did not e-mail or call to confirm).

We have grown PSM for a few years. It always blooms and in 2016 it rebloomed very late and was one of the last daylilies to bloom. I have had some really pretty flowers similar to the photos posted by Jon. It has about a dozen buds per scape and is pod and pollen fertile. I should bloom some seedlings from PSM this coming spring.

Larry,
Check with Ashton and Terry, as that is who I got mine from last season. I am not sure how much it was (I placed a large order & don't remember that particular one), but I'm sure it was not $25.

I got PSM in the Fall of 2021. It had 4 fans and all of them survived the Winter. However, during the Spring and Summer of 2022, the plant disappeared. Sad…

Update to my previous post. I agree with Zoia that this daylily does not do well in cold zone. I still have it but it struggles to grow. I have it more than 5 years now but it grows to about 3 fans. Some years it did not produce any scape and the fans are quite small. The flowers are still beautiful but bloom below foliage.

Attn Becky: No need for acorn as this is update.

Karen, you are still due an acorn, even for an update, as long as it's a year later. But you'll have to tree mail Becky. She can't see this thread as it was started by Jon.
