I have had this one for at least 5 years and love it!
Large bright bold blooms. Pollen fertile but no success at setting pods on it. Medium growth rate.
Love what you teach and teach what you love!

I have had Neon Flamingo since it first came out, and it does exceptionally well here in it's home state of Ohio, being fully
dormant. I too have not had any pods out of it, but Jamie Gossard told me that he has had them on his.

Neon Flamingo is very similar to White Eyes Pink Dragon, slightly shorter, and almost exactly the same color, but with a
slightly less watermark eye. Of the two, Neon Flamingo makes a gorgeous clump and a nice height, but for seeds, you
would prefer White Eyes Pink Dragon as it is taller and the plant is more robust than Neon Flamingo. Most people who
come to my garden have a hard time telling the two apart as they are that similar, but I like both equally. The scapes
on both plants are sturdy and well branched with a few weeks of bloom, but White Eyes is a few days later than
Neon Flamingo in both first blooms and last blooms. Here in my garden, I would have to say that the flowers on it are
almost exactly the same size as White Eyes Pink Dragon, but perhaps more flat and don't roll back as much.

Thanks for that thorough comparison, Derryl.

Almost exactly the same color as White Eyes Pink Dragon? Hmm. Very interesting. White Eyes Pink Dragon can vary in coloration here, sometimes being more rose-violet. Does Neon Flamingo also vary?

Hi Mantis.

I really haven't noticed either of them being variable in color, but I will say that many daylilies respond to temperatures
and the same plant can have different colors on cool days and you really don't notice it except in a photo.

Both plants seem to be that vivid neon, and Neon Flamingo might possibly be more on the neon pink side of rose violet
compared to White Eyes Pink Dragon, but they seem to be very close.

It is strange how much daylilies from can vary from soil and zone differences. Here in zone 6 NEON FLAMINGO is taller and is a bright pink while WEPD is more of a lavender pink with a much more pronounced watermark and are not much alike.

What can I say about this daylily? "Fan" tastic It increases for me very well. The color is striking and the blooms are huge! While I don't hybridize it sets pod due to our 'bee' autiful friends! Hurray!
Let the beauty of what you love be what you do.

I bought Neon Flamingo in the summer of 2013. It was a slow starter for me, as I did not see my first bloom until 2016. I think that is mostly due to my soil, which is basically red clay, although I do amend when I plant. If my recollection is correct, 2015 was a very dry daylily season and that likely also played a part in the delay. Despite the wait to see it bloom in my garden, it was well worth it to see that stunning pink bloom! The size and color is wonderful!

I got Neon Flamingo from Floyd Cove in the Spring of 2021. It didn't do anything that season other than add a fan.
This summer, I had a floral bonanza. PF threw 23 blooms from July 2-30. Then it had a rebloom August 28-September 22 with 10 more blooms.
It doesn't look much like White Eyes, Pink Dragon in my garden. It is a bright neon pink, whereas WEPD is more of a soft Lavender with a large washy white eye.
Pink Flamingo is a great flower, so splashy!
Unfortunately, it was rather exhausted by October, down to 2 fans with a bad case of rust.

2023 update…Pink Flamingo had a decent season this year. Not as exuberant as last year but it still bloomed from July 5-21 with 14 flowers. By October it had grown to 6 fans so I think it was putting energy into growing the plant.
