Our weather has been on a yo-yo, below freezing, then above freezing, then rainy, then unusually warm, rain again, and then back towards freezing. The garlic seems to like it though.

Those are not boards, Philip, if you are talking about those squarish objects on the ground. They are pavers and designate the walkways. The only boards present are the boxes I build to isolate the different varieties of garlic.

I have been through Gilroy several times but have never been to their garlic festival. My wife was born and reared in Fresno but she left CA in 1971, when we became engaged. She's lived in Mississippi ever since.

Philip, with all the rain in California recently, a few days ago the Weather Channel was showing flooding in Gilroy; I hope it didn't wreck the garlic crop there!

Sandy, a lot depends on the time of year and of course, how long the ground stays saturated. The price of garlic may be going higher real soon.

But ! 1st a little about weather. The news overexagerates the weather. There playing up to this global warming B.S.

Now ! My funny story. A month or so ago, i ordered some habanero spice, called gilroy hot stuff, from , garlic shop.com, there in gilroy. A week later !!! I hadn't got it. Maybe lost or stole ? So i called them. They got flooded ! AND !!!
A prius drove into there building. Poor fellows !

Been to Gilroy. Stopped in Gilroy. Shopped in Gilroy. I think we still have a partial jar of their garlic-stuffed olives in the fridge. You can always tell when you're close to Gilroy because you can smell the garlic for miles around.
