*Nice smaller plant 20-24" for front of bed. The dark buds and scapes are attractive and make it stand out. I do not have much yellow so the golden yellow blooms make a nice little pop. Medium growth rate. No report on fertility other than it does set bee pods.
Love what you teach and teach what you love!

How did I not post about this little gem, yet?

Mine arrived late in the season last year from Oakes Daylilies as a beautiful replacement clump for a mistaken-identity flower I had received previously (they ended up being out of the one I had actually ordered).

I planted it August 14th. AUGUST....and that determined little plant shot up it's beautiful, dark-colored scapes and bloomed for me late fall. I was stunned. Here was a picture of the FFE from my garden on October 12, 2016:

Thank you, Oakes, for sending such a healthy, vigorous plant. And thank you, Sir (Blackstem), for being such a determined little thing! I can't wait to work with this cutie for hybridizing purposes, but no recorded data now because it bloomed too late to hybridize with for the 2016 season.
