Seed Starting mix using Neem oil. in the Ask a Question forum

I'm seeing this being done using Jiffy Seed Starting Mix and a form of Neem oil. I have clarified hydrophobic extract of Neem oil 70% by Garden Safe brand. I'm thinking about diluting 4-Tablespoons to a gallon of water then adding enough of it to the Starting mix to properly moisten it. Please send me some information regarding my .headache.

I read the study that crawgarden provided.

The study results say that Neem extract kills microorganisms in soil. The conclusion is that if you plan to use it, you should add organic fertilizer to replace the organisms you are killing.

My question now is Why?
