Carmen Renee is a beauty! The first Carmen Renee I purchased was planted and promptly died. She was planted in the backyard at the start of the summer which became the record of the most days over 100. Who knew? I purchased Carmen Renee again a couple of years later and planted her in a front garden. She has bloomed happily for a couple of years. I have had a Lilting Belle for two years before acquiring Carmen. Carmen is planted within 8 to 10 feet of Belle. Choosing between the two, makes Carmen Renee the clear winner. Lilting Belle is not even in the race. They are similar in looks and stats. Both are semi-evergreen, height mid-30 inches with large lavender blooms. Carmen Renee can handle the Texas growing conditions better. Lilting Belle barely grows and flowers occasionally. Here are pictures from the database to show their similar looks.
I recommend Carmen Renee for growing in hot climates.
May your gardens be blessed this year!
