I will get chicken wire and put it around the shrub and fill it with leaves. That should protect it without subjecting it to heat should the days heat up. .
kousa said:The mild Feb was actually wonderful for me as I am not a fan of cold. Though it really wreaked havoc on the poor plants that got fooled into thinking that winter was over. I must say my hellebores held up pretty well to the temps in the teens followed by being buried in 16" of snow. Not so with my early daffs and early tulips. The blooms flopped over and got damaged from freezing.
