Might be Acer. One looks like it still has a piece of the 'wing' attached.

Could they be pinyon seeds or pine nuts? Not sure of the size. The Ponderosa Pine has smaller, similar seeds with the wing attached, when it first comes out of the cone. As a child, I would crack them with my teeth, assemble 4 or 5 of these "pinyon" seeds without the hard shell, and have a miniature feast of these delicious nuts.
