In case you have nothing to do on Saturday... Smiling

Please join a bunch of Peony enthusiasts at the Iowa Arboretum on Saturday, April 1st for the annual Spring Fever Symposium. This is the 8th year of the Symposium and Nate Bremer of Solaris Farms will be our speaker. Please strongly consider attending this event. You may register online on the Arboretum website: http://iowaarboretum.org/

Nate has kindly donated Paeonia rockii seedlings from a cross of 'Angel Emily X 'Yin Zhuang sug uo' (see photos of parents) . They've been successfully overwintered and are now growing in their greenhouse. These gift plants (3 per pot) alone are worth the price of registration!

As you may have read in the latest Bulletin, Ames will host the 2019 APS convention.

Thanks, Diann. Nate gave a peony seed presentation at the Garden Expo here in February that was well attended and full of information. Every talk, it seems I pick up a little something I didn't know before. Enjoyed it very much. No doubt the talk will be great and followed also by a daylily talk after lunch. Sounds like a great way to spend the day.

The trouble with podcast is you can't see the pictures that go along with the talk.

I don't know if there would be a podcast or not. Maybe that's something that you should ask the folks at the Iowa Arboretum. There are four of us going up from Eastern Iowa. That says alot for us, because three of us are not early risers and it's 2 hours and 30 minutes from us. Hilarious!

The lecture was fantastic. First half was on tree peony and the second half was on daylily. It was well worth rolling my body out of bed at 5:00 am on a Saturday. Smiling LOL
