Thread OP

Hi,

I have a mysterious neighbor that likes to leave out small plants in water jars ready to be planted.
Can you please ID this one, so that I care for it properly.

Hi Lovlife and Welcome! to NGA. This is just a guess and hopefully someone else may come up with a better one - they look like cuttings of Goldfish plants, either Nematanthus or Columnea. Here are our database links:
Nematanthus
Columnea glabra.
You won't be able to correctly ID which cultivar it is until it blooms, if at all. There are so many cultivars. BTW, you have some nice looking cuttings. nodding

The leaves are too small for Wax Plant (Hoya carnosa)

It reminds me of Nematanthus also. Click on these photos to enlarge them for a closer view and comparison of the leaves:

Sorry, was thinking of Hoya bella, not carnosa. Leaves remind of the one I once had.

I had H. bella years ago, doesn't look like that one either. I'm really bad at comparing photos for identification though. Here are some Hoya bella pictures showing the leaves:

I think Lin, you're correct. The leaves look so familiar, but my hoya leaves were not such a dark green and shiny like the pic.

I'm wondering if it's a lipstick plant. Here's a photo link to the database:

Alyssa, that's a very good possibility too!

The blooms should help ID the plant more positively, @Lovlife. Thumbs up
