One of my very first daylilies... Bought it spring of 2011 and it's been happily growing under the shade of a mulberry tree ever since. I planted 25 single fans (I know, right? 25?- but that's another story). I have treated them much like folks treat Stella De Oro, plant them and leave them. I lost the fans closest to the fence and deepest under the tree, but the ones on the eastern edge are clumped up, so I still have at least 25 fans in some tidy clumps. I was actually thinking of dividing them this year, but I have put it off.

A lovely smaller flower, Chorus Line is fragrant, a good bloomer in partial shade and does well on little care. I have watered them infrequently, never fertilize and they have over-wintered well in my zone. They wear whatever leaf mulch finds them- and I uncover them in the spring. Though susceptible to rust, I haven't seen it- my zone protects me for now... I don't have a picture of them on the lap top, but I might have a spring clump shot on the tablet...

Pirl's photo represents what my CL looks like.

Chorus Line is a long time favourite, since I ordered it in 1994 from Daylily Discounter through Crescent Nursery in Ontario. My friend and I shared this plant, and while hers is in the shade, mine is in full sun - both of them have outdone themselves, and provided others with offshoots.
Coming out of a green throat, is a rich yellow halo which runs into a rose band.
Thumb of 2017-04-10/HemNorth/070480 I love the way the sepals frame and support the petals. This photo shows the rich substance of the sepals. Earlier in the day, in full sun, there is an orange tone to the blossoms.

Thumb of 2017-04-10/HemNorth/2992f2 Towards the end of the day, a rosy pink blush enhances the glow of the bloom.
Thumb of 2017-04-10/HemNorth/bc66d0 Flaring white ribs accentuate the curve of the petals.
Although the blossoms are small, they have a rich texture and fragrance, that make them a joy to have in the garden.

One of my very first daylilies too. It has multiplied over the years & I have a nice clump of it. Can't say it is a fast multiplier because I've had it about 15 years, but that is a good think in my eyes, I like not having to divide. It blooms quite well, although that may be because it is such a nice sized clump. I like the color & it does quite well in a more neglected area of my garden where I rarely water or fertilize.

Pure joy in the garden. It was also one of my first dozen daylilies, probably from Daylily Discounters or Oakes. It multiplies well, never looks tired, and I wouldn't be without it.

I have had Chorus Line for five years and do not think I have gotten 5 blooms from it. As with everything in my garden it either does exceptional or nothing. I have taken to digging up the daylilies that have done nothing, putting them in huge pots, optimal, water, soil and location. I am giving them a chance to improve, so far it has not helped Chorus Line. I do not think it can take the heat here. I noticed that everyone who said it does well was in a cooler climate. May joy surround you!

I have had Chorus Line for a number of years but it never seems to do much. I get a couple of blooms every year and that's it. Maybe it doesn't like it's location, maybe it has too much competition from other bigger stronger cvs. Not sure. It will either improve or it won't. It's not the kind of flower that I am too worried about either way. Here's a photo from this year, where it is shaded by Greywoods Painted Pony.

Chorus Line does seem to prefer the cold-climate areas. it does very well here in zone 3. Yes, it's fragrant. And reliable. But one curious thing I have noticed with Chorus Line that is not so common with most of my other daylilies... how differently the colours of the flowers may show from one bloom to another.

It can be a pale, pastel pink... or a deep, bright pink... or slide over into the peachy / apricot end of the spectrum. One might suppose that these changes in colour might be time of day, or camera settings, or sun vs. shade ... or even the conditions in soil or temperature from year to year or garden to garden.

But I have seen the blooms range from pale to bright to peach / apricot all on the same plant and all blooming together at the same time! It's the only daylily in my gardens with such a broad range of tones and tints, and so apt to vary from bloom to bloom. But the eye / halo persists, regardless of the background colour, and it performs very well here.

Life is what happens while you are making other plans.

I have Chorus Line, too. I received three plants as a bonus from Oakes in August of 2020. It's a pretty plant, and I will keep it, but I agree that it probably would thrive a bit more in a colder climate. It does bloom here but not as long as others have reported.

I also agree with Dianne above that the color of the blooms changes. Here the early blooms are quite orangey, and they become pinker as its bloom season progresses. Here is an early bloom picture:

And one taken about a week later:

Chorus Line is listed as susceptible to rust. It has gotten some rust in my garden, but I have had much worse plants for rust. The rust tends to show up late in the season after the bloom is well over, so it is not a big problem for me to cut the plant back. I should add that the rust does not show up every year. Last year it didn't get any, for example.

I had a better year out of Chorus Line this summer. It had 11 blooms between July 10-22. Doesn't sound like much but that's it's best year yet in my yard. That was it's third year in the ground from a tiny G Wild fan.

2023 update…This year, it bloomed from July 8-27. I only counted 9 blooms but I could have missed some. Still not great.
