Hi everybody! So many of us purchased itoh peonies from MB over the years. I would love to hear and see how everybody's plants are doing this year. Please share your plants photos and observations in this thread. I bought only 2 over the years, Lollipop and Berry Garcia. As was found out last year, my Lollipop did not bloom true to name. My Berry Garcia is still small but one of the stem is showing a very small bud this year. Hurray! Hurray! I hope it makes it to bloom so I can identify whether it is the right plant or another mislabel.

Here is the growth on my Berry Garcia taken a few days ago. It was planted in spring 2015.

Karen, I also brought 4 of Berry Garcias, Singing in the rains, 1 of Julia Rose, 1 of Kopper Kettle in 2015 from Michigan Bulbs, all got buds on them except Julia Rose and Kopper kettle. now I feel like kids in Christmas, can't wait to see their true identities, so exciting!!! I sure will post pictures when they bloom.

Thanks Anya. For some reason, most itohs have reddish foliage. I think that you will find your itohs to likely have reddish foliage once they grow, Anya. I am curious what blooms for your Berry Garcia and Singin in the Rain, Yan.

Gary, I too brought Yankee Doodle Dandy from Spring Hill in 2015, it had 3 buds this year, I think I am going to have a very good Itoh bloom this year, kinda make up for the damaged of my TPs.

That is wonderful, Yan! You must have excellent soil for the peonies to grow so nice. My Berry Garcia is only half your size eventhough it was planted the same time as yours.

Karen, I think it's depends on each plant, I have one planted in the same time but never got any bigger than the size of two years old plant.
Thanks! LG I'm excited to see the blooms too, I even got two buds on "Caroline Constabel" planted last Fall, it looks so small, I'm wondering that should I pinch the buds off or not?

Yan, I don't pinch the buds off unless they are not growing along with the plant. I like to see if they bloom true to name.
Are you using any fertilizer on your Itohs?
They are look so good.

LG, I just use fish fertilizer and Bayer all-in-one Rose fertilizer two times a year, one in spring one in the Fall. I might just leave one bud on to see it true to the name since the web didn't have much pics of Caroline Constabel.

Thanks, LG and Liz! Sometimes, I wish I had ordered more from MB. You just never know what you will get with MB. I think you just can't go wrong with itohs. They are so gorgeous. I have yet to get a bad looking mislabel for an itoh.

Karen, I ordered total of 8 Itoh peonies from MB in Spring 2015, 2 of them won't have bloom this year, I'm kinda exciting to see what I actually got, 4 different plants but same variety will they all tune out the same? Or 4 different varieties?
