Six pots of Jade Cross Brussels Sprouts have been growing under my new LED system for 16 days. The grow is spectacular and exhibits the efficiency of LED lamps. This cultivar has tight buds and grows exceedingly well in my Zone 5. They will be planted outdoors about 1 May 2017. The cultivar can withstand some frost.

I sure don't comprehend your comment and ascribing others as having the same mindset.

Obviously this is a garden site. I present what I consider to be innovative in some cases with the view of stimulating conversation.

But if this it too much for you and yours I will gladly move on.

Maybe thou should start a poll to determine if Durgan should be a member of he forum.

I think Durgan is sharing projects from his blog here. He seems to extend his growing season by growing out most of his plants indoors under artificial lighting in winter.

http://durgan.org/2017/May%202... 13 May 2017 Brussels Spouts (Jade Cross)
Eight Brussels Spouts (Jade Cross) were planted outdoors. They were in the greenhouse in individual pots developing strong roots. They were grown from seed, started under a LED lamp. Jade cross is a perfect sprout and grows well in my garden. A plastic cage was installed to deter the odd rabbit until the plants get large.

Looks good Durgan. I like that germination setup you got!

First year. It started as an experiment and works beyond my expectations. Simple and economical for a small home grower. What it demonstrates is one doesn't require expensive LED's. Any bright LED floodlight works very well. Many in the hardware stores now.
