Thread OP

My hostas have been growing 4-5 years now. Getting bigger and prettier each year. I am not a garden person but I want to try getting the small plot my hostas live in together. What is happening to my plants? This happens each year it seems like and I've not much paid attention to it since it's out back and I don't go back there much. This year I'm dealing with it. What's going on? Any help would be so awesome. I've never seen pests back there though again I don't spend much time out there either.

Some of it looks like tears to me, could there be something blowing on those leaves?

Do you have any trees around? Looks like some mechanical damage and wind.

Hi Larmccla
Wonder, is that an air conditioning unit next to your hosta? Is that screen an air intake or output? (my husband would have a COW if I planted ANYTHING next to the A/C unit, as it would restrict its efficiency), so I'm inclined to agree with Sue.
P.S.: Why, oh, why is the best place to put equipment (generator, A/C unit, etc.) in my prime garden space ?! Inquiring minds just want to know ! D'Oh!
