Hello All,

Complete clueless beginner here.

All my adult life I lived in apartments and just last summer I moved into a house. Lawn and landscaping were not taken care of because I had trouble adjusting to a house, but this year I am going to change that.

Now that the snow is gone (I live in Quebec) this plant started popping up and I am not sure if it's part of the landscaping or just weeds. They don't look ugly to me, but I don't know anything, so my internet search brought me here. The picture was taken with low light, but in reality the green is brighter.

Can anyone help? What is this?

It could be Papaver orientale/Oriental Poppy. That is NOT a weed.

Wow. Thanks a lot. Yes, I looked at several pictures online and it does indeed look like papaver orientale. I really appreciate the help. I was already outside with the puller and all.
