Oh my goodness, I love those big, beautiful blooms of H. imperalis! I had H. imperialis back in 2006 and it grew really big but I never got to see flowers and then I lost it to a winter freeze in 2010.
I currently have no Hoya blooms to share; I'm a bad plant mama and I know they'd grace me with blooms if I'd just feed them once in awhile. The only Hoyas I currently have are H. australis which usually blooms in November and December for me but it skipped this year; possibly due to our move and it's location change. It's in the atrium area and not getting as much light as it has in the past so I think I need to look around to find a better spot for it. I have a Hoya obovata out in that same area which usually blooms in May so maybe I'll be seeing something from it next month. I also have a large Hoya pubicalyx that hasn't bloomed in a long while, also probably due to lower light conditions.
I got a
Wax Plant (Hoya macgillivrayi) in 2010 or 2011 and it was one of my favorites but I thought it either died or was inadvertently given away when I was downsizing a couple of years ago and gave a bunch of plants to neighbors. When we moved last year, we brought two truckloads of plants and they all got unloaded and placed out on the perimeter of the property beneath the trees. After we got settled, I was moving plants around and found a pot with a Hoya but I can't recognize which one it is by just the leaves. I'm kinda hoping it's the macgillivrayi but I really have no clue until it blooms ... it may just be wistful thinking wanting it to be the mac but I'm keeping my fingers crossed
and hoping. I have a couple of small pots of Hoyas out there in the mix and I don't remember which they are ... need to go through my folders and see if I can figure any of them out but blooms will tell for sure.
My Hoya 'Ruthie' that I got from you
@mjsponies is doing well and I did fertilize it a few weeks ago but I really do need to give it another shot of bloom booster soon.
I have a tiny Hoya hueschkeliana that does blooms quite often; it sits on the kitchen counter in front of a south facing window and seems happy. This bloom photo is from three weeks ago:
