Saw this outside a restaurant we had lunch at today. What is it? It was in a spot that gets full sun (when we get full sun in the NW), but I'm hoping it can grow in shade. The bright color would be great for the shady side of our place.

I don't actually know what it is, but generally varigated plants will be more green and less colorful the less sun they get.

is it Euonymus Emerald's Gold?

Since it's at a restaurant it most likely is Euonymus. Shape of the leaves and the overall shape of the bush looks right and it's a popular commercial place planting.

Yep, you're right! I glanced through the article, although it says it can be in full shade, the article also states that it can be invasive, so maybe I'll pass.
