Snowflake Empress will be starting its fourth season here. I haven't seen any scapes yet, but probably pretty soon. It is such a pretty daylily, but not really white, has that pale pink tint to it in our garden. The substance is good, and usually blooms above the foliage. So far, it has earned its spot here, and we plan to have it for a long time.

I decided last season that I wanted another white daylily for my garden and visited my local daylily grower to make my choice. As I walked the daylily fields, Snowflake Empress really stood out. It is a large flower, with heavy substance and a faint pink blush. I purchased a blooming clump and was very pleased with how it settled into my garden and did not miss a beat in blooming. It has come through its first winter beautifully and am looking forward to seeing it this first full season in my garden.

A large off-white flower. Like most Doughertys, vigorous, though it may take a bit to settle in. Heavily ruffled.

I have updated pics to show how the same camera can produce different shades. Bloom also changes with sun exposure.
