Hi tribtrav,
from me too!
There are many flowering plants that work great for terrariums, it's just important to choose the correct plant for the size of container you are using!
For small terrariums you should use miniature or semi-miniature plants that won't outgrow their containers. Many plants in the Gesneriad family (African Violets, etc.) do great in terrariums as long as they receive bright light (no direct sun. which will scorch their foliage). We have listings with photos and growing information in our database for many plants that will thrive in terrarium conditions. I'm including links for some to consider.

Miniature African Violet's:
African Violet (Streptocarpus 'Rob's Sticky Wicket')
African Violet (Streptocarpus 'Rob's Vanilla Trail')
For colorful foliage, the Polka Dot plant comes to mind but might have to be pinched back on occasion to keep it from outgrowing it's space:

Also for attractive foliage, Rex Begonia's, Pilea and Fittonia come to mind. There are some that are low growing, while others may grow tall:

For larger terrariums, flowering Episcia's would work well:

I've planted many terrariums over the past 25+ years, from small glass jars to large fish tanks that I've turned into plant terrariums. The sky's the limit with what will do well in terrariums, it just depends on the size of the container! These are some old photos of my past terrariums. The only one I still have is the one in the last picture, a 45 gal. aquarium turned into a terrarium.
