Fiber glass rods four feet long used normally to mark road boundaries for snow plowing in the Winter make ideal marker posts in the garden. They are an improvement over wood and last forever. With a sharp point they push into the ground easily. I purchased some for a dollar each but now thy cost two. Such is life. They make good posts for temporary light fences.
