I've want to buy a trailing fuchsia for a very tall pot. My nursery has four cultivars of fuchsias: Winston Churchill, June Bride, Paula Jane, and Dollar Princess. My research on the web says that only the Dollar Princess trails; the others are upright.

Is this in fact the case? What other types of fuchsia might I consider, that I could buy online? The one thing I liked about the Dollar Princess is that it's described as 'hardy.' My zone isn't very conducive to growing them, but I think I can find a good place for it where it should do well.

All suggestions are welcome. Confused
Melissa

Hi, Melissa. All fuchsias are hardy in zone 9b. The problem your zone presents is not one of cold hardiness, but of possible exposure to too much sun and heat. I'm in 9a and I can only grow fuchsias in the shade. Whenever I've tried to grow them in containers in a sunny spot, I've had to water them at least twice a day, which is too much hassle for me.

Hello Zuzu

Sorry no see for a long time, but severe problems, but am still here. Mellissa has them the wrong way round. Dollar Princess is the upright, the others are trailing. As long as it gets some shade during the day it should be fine.
