When I moved out of frozen Minnesota in April 2016 my hosta were just barely breaking ground. I waited until moving day to dig some sentimental ones up to take with me. Now I'm confused as to which is which. They are all noids except the Sun Power so I was trying to identify it by noticing the differences on the others. I had a very large blue that I brought with me and the leaf shape is the same as the Sun Power. I planted them all in lots of shade then read that SP should be planted in mostly sun to get the yellow color or they turn green.

This plant has blue waxy leaves, could it be a SP? I haven't been able to locate one to compare with. SP's have wavy edges and a curling folded over tip which this hosta has- kinda.

I thought about moving it but if its not a SP it will burn up in the sun.

I have a sneaking suspicion I lost the SP in the move.

Here's a picture of my Sun Power from 2013. It's the yellow one on the left side of the picture. I had mine in bright shade and it did really good. It still turned yellow-green mid summer. I read that Sun Power doesn't like a lot of direct sun, but mine didn't come back this year so it doesn't like deep shade either!

Looking at the Hostapedia it says the Sun Power has 14-16 vein pairs

Hostapedia? Where do we find that? Sounds intriguing. . .

Rose, I'm sorry you lost your SP it looks beautiful! I don't think my blue is an SP tho.

It's a HUGE book from Mark Zillis that weighs about 20 lbs! It has information on almost every hosta on the market! It's really good reading in the winter months!
