Red Charm has been my favorite red for years, but... it has now been replaced! The Mackinac Grand is now supreme... based on its first flower to bloom! It is absolutely stunning! I just acquired this last fall, and I am very very pleased to have it.

This shot is a small part of a very large clump, and yes, I do love Red Charm.

I agree Mackinac Grand is a wonderful and vigorous red with very strong stems. It is one of my favorite reds for this year. Its performance was outstanding.

My favorite red is the red that's blooming in my garden at the time I'm asked!

Liz-- I think that is a GREAT answer! I react that way especially for pinks... almost impossible to choose a favorite among them... maybe the one that is most fragrant?

I agree, Liz! I got Red Charm last year because everyone raved & such beautiful photos of it here. It didn't bloom this year, maybe next year though. I'm loving Red Red Rose, may have to get that one. A favorite in my garden is Lights Out with really dark red color.

I never even wanted Red Charm before I saw it in person. If you thought the pics were nice you'll be blown away by the flowers a mature plant puts out, alilyfan!
I think fragrance would probably be the thing that would make me have an absolute favorite red; seems most of mine don't have one. Anyone out there have a gorgeous AND fragrant red?

Today it's Postillion. This peony has done very well for me, increasing nicely every year so far and stands up to the crazy weather we have like a champ.
