My daughter bought Here Lies Butch for me when she spotted it at a garden center connected to a local grocery store. That was in August, 2014. She called me, and asked if I wanted her to buy it for me. It had a flower on it when she bought it, so we knew it was correct, and since it was on sale, we decided to take a chance. It did not bloom in 2015, but did bloom last year.
It has proven to be hardy here having gone through two difficult winters. The first winter it was in my garden it was a very cold winter, with an ice storm in the spring just as the daylilies were emerging, and this past winter started early and spring was late arriving, and has been cool and very wet. Through it all, Here Lies Butch seems to have done well.
