I received Dazzling Gold as a gift plant summer of 2014. It settled in quickly, and has bloomed every year including the summer it was planted. It has only increased by 1 fan since 2014, but that could be due to my tight spacing of plants. The blooms always open perfectly here, never hanging up. The color is sunfast here in SW Ohio infull sun, never fading. However, the blooms do not hold up to rain, unless it's a very light sprinkle. We had storms this morning, here is what the blooms looked like afterwards.
I love the color, it grabs your attention from across the garden. I don't believe it has ever reached the 34" height, it's registered at here. It normally reaches 26" to 28" height here, however this year it's blooming at 22" for the first set of scapes, but many other cultivars are shorter than normal this year, might be due to the wonky weather this year. Dazzling Gold has rebloomed here in Ohio multiple times a season every year since 2014. I have not tried breeding with it yet, so I have nothing to report on it's pollen fertility, or if it's a pod setter.
I can update with a better picture, as soon as Mother Nature allows.
